Regional Differences in Height and Taper form of Pinus densiflora in Korea.
Doo-Ahn Kwak, Woo-Kyun Leea, Sang-Woo Kim and Jeong-Ho Seo ABSTRACT : This study was performed to understand the regional differences in height growth and stem taper form of Pinus densi/lora. A total of 60 sample plots were set and dominant tree of each sample plot were cut for stem analysis . Height growth and stem taper model were prepared by fitting the stem analysis data to non-linear regression models. Stem taper in Sokwang-ri has a relative high cylindrical form, but the stem form tends to be tapered with age. And
stem taper in Yangyang-gun appeared to be little changed with age. Comparing to the stem taper form of two regions. the stem form of Anmyeon-Island was rather tapered in young stage and was getting more cylindrical with tree age. Key words : stem taper form. tree height. Pinus densiflora, regional differences |
