ABSTRACT : This study investigated the effects of topographic factors such as elevation and slope on dbh and height growth, and stand density. Sample plots were established in different elevation and slope. DBHs of all trees in sample plots were measured, and heights and dbh growths for subject trees were measured. Through comparison between topographic indices (elevation and slope) and growth factors (dbh, height, density) effects of topographic indices on growth factors were analyzed.
With increasing elevation and slope, stand density (No. of t rees) increases, while dbh and height growth decreases. This results indicated that high elevation and slope has negative effects on the dbh and height growth.
Key words: elevation, slope, dbh, height, stem no. per ho, Pinus Jtoraiensis.
